My kiddos LOVED this game. 6th-12th grade.
A slight variation to make the "perch" slightly less awkward (in case you've got a middle school group), have the perch kneel on the floor and the birdie stands behind, placing both hands on the shoulders of the perch.
If you're not using music, yell out other words that aren't "birdie on a perch" and eliminate teams that "assume the position" without actually LISTENING to what you said :) - Kayt (12 Mar 2015)
