I swear I invented this game :). I guess great minds think alike when you need a game quick, and all you have is a balloon. In our version, everyone is seated. Before someone hits the balloon (upward hits only--no spiking or sideways hits), that person must say someone else's name, rather than saying it after hitting the balloon. If you don't say the name before you hit it, you turn your chair sideways (signalling you are out). If you name someone who is out, you become out.
Another important rule is that once you hit the balloon, your heiny must touch your chair before you can hit it again. This gets crazy when it's down to two people! - Paul May (28 Feb 2011)

a great variant on this game is "keep the balloon down"
